Works on any website, with a single tag
The Interlyo code is one line you paste once, before the closing body tag. Here you’ll find step-by-step instructions for the most popular platforms. The panel gives you the same instructions during installation.
The code to paste
You’ll find it ready in the panel, with your key, and copy it in one click. It looks like this:
<script src="https://app.interlyo.com/widget/chatbot.js" data-api-key="your-key" defer></script>
Once per page
Don’t duplicate it in both the header and the footer.
It doesn’t slow your site down
It loads after the rest of the page, without blocking it from displaying.
Never in the content editor
Many text editors strip out scripts: paste it where your theme or a plugin lets you add code.
One Interlyo site per domain
If you have different domains for different languages, for example .it and .com, create a site for each one.
Someone else runs your site? During installation, enter their email: we’ll send them the code and instructions.
Choose your platform
Yours isn’t listed? Follow the guide for HTML sites: the logic is the same for any site where you can edit the HTML.

How to check it works
- 1
Reload the page
With Ctrl+F5, to skip the browser cache. The bubble with your bot’s avatar appears at the bottom right.
- 2
Open the chat
Clicking the bubble opens the chat with your welcome message.
- 3
Ask a question
The bot answers from your website content in a few seconds.
- 4
Look at the panel
The test conversation appears in the Conversations tab.
If the chat doesn’t appear
Clear your site’s cache
Nine times out of ten the site, or Cloudflare, is still serving the version without the code. Clear the cache of the plugin or service you use and reload with Ctrl+F5.
Check the code is on the page
Right-click → “View page source” and search for chatbot.js. If it isn’t there, the code wasn’t saved in the right place.
Look at the browser console
Press F12 → Console. The message “[Chatbot] widget non caricato” means the code is there but the site is switched off, the balance has run out or the key was copied wrongly.
Check the panel
Make sure the site is active and there’s credit, then check the key in the code again.
Google Sites
Google Sites doesn’t let you add JavaScript to pages, so the chat can’t be installed there. In that case it’s worth moving your site to a platform that allows it.
To remove it
Remove the code from where you pasted it and the chat disappears straight away. To switch it off without touching your site, deactivate the site from the panel.
