AI chatbot for WordPress: how to install it

On WordPress you add the code once and it works across the whole site, WooCommerce included. Pick one of the methods below: the first is the simplest and isn’t lost when your theme updates.

You’ll find it ready in the panel, with your key, and copy it in one click. It looks like this:

<script src="https://app.interlyo.com/widget/chatbot.js" data-api-key="your-key" defer></script>

1With a scripts plugin Recommended

  1. In Plugins → Add New, search for “WPCode” or “Insert Headers and Footers”, install it and activate it.
  2. Open its “Header & Footer” page.
  3. Paste the code in the “Body” or “Footer” section.
  4. Save.

You don’t touch the theme, it isn’t lost when the theme updates and you can remove it with one click.

2With Elementor, Beaver Builder or Bricks

  1. Open the global footer template, not a single page.
  2. Add the “HTML” or “Custom code” widget.
  3. Paste the code.
  4. Save and publish.

3With the Divi theme

  1. Go to Divi → Theme Options → Integration.
  2. Turn on the “Enable body code” switch: this is the most common mistake, the field is there but the switch is off.
  3. Paste the code in the body field.
  4. Save and clear your site’s caches.

Don’t paste the code into a Divi Builder Text module: Divi strips scripts from content.

4In the theme’s footer.php file Child theme only

  1. Appearance → Theme File Editor → footer.php.
  2. Paste the code just above </body>.
  3. Update the file.

A theme update wipes the change, unless you use a child theme.

If the chat only appears on some pages, for example not in the WooCommerce cart, those pages use a different footer: the plugin method adds it everywhere.
